What are Orthotics?
Orthotics are specialized inserts fitted for your shoe to maintain proper foot alignment and provide support to minimize pain during weight bearing activities. Orthotics assist in realignment of anatomical structures such as the knees, hips and lumbar spine by supporting the arch and controlling motion across the major joints in the foot.
Orthotics are made of semi-rigid materials and are posted to correct for angular deviations which affect foot function. Orthotics work to redistribute pressure over a large area of the foot during weight bearing, reducing pressure in the center of the heel.
